Isn’t that the truth?! I was without Internet access for about a month and I’m still trying to catch up to all the changes during that time. DoddemaGen is undergoing a facelift. The USS Riverside is getting a complete makeover from a new forum theme, the addition of a blog and image gallery and custom graphics. That’s alot!
Where do I fit in? Right in the middle. It reminds me when I was a child and we had a small car and I had to sit in the middle of my two sisters so they wouldn’t fight. I hated being in the middle. I don’t dread it as much as I did when I was younger. Usually I thrive in that sort of condition except when I feel like I’m over my head.
What saves me is networking. We’ve all heard the magic catch phrase before but in today’s helter skelter world networking is key. I have friends and those friends have friends and they all know a little something about something. I met my good friend Steve online. Have we ever met? Nope. Just through that mysterious ether we call “the Web”!
He’s given me so much of his free time helping me devise new themes only to have me tear them down and build up again. He’s great. There’s my other online friend, Kim, who makes wonderful graphics. Simply amazing. If you go to DoddemaGen or the USS Riverside blog, you’ll see her work. Soon she’ll be here.
What I’m getting at is networking is a real and powerful tool. No matter what you want to call it in today’s world of political correctness, networking is valuable to anybody, whether you’re an aspiring artist, writer, dog groomer, or even a web administrator. Have you reached out lately?
