FamilySearch Pilot adds Dutch Records

I would like to thank Renee Zamora for her recent article.  I’ve been checking out the new FamilySearch Labs for updates but hadn’t seen anything that really stuck out about the Doddema names; at least names that I didn’t have.  That changed today.  FamilySearch Labs has added over a million births, 374,000 marriages and 206,000 deaths.  WOW!!!!  That’s a alot!  So what happens when I type in the Doddema name?  7 pages of search results!  It’s extraordinary!

Right off the top, Hindrik Dodde also used the name Hendrik Doddema!  Emmo Doddema was also known as Onno Doddema.  The list goes on.  I’m excited if you can’t tell.

Although I will continue to use Genlias, I will also be using this resource.  Hopefully it will continue to mature.  From all indications, it will.  According to Renee’s article, over 40 million new records have been added since Jan 9, 2009!!  Jaw-dropping!  So, it looks like I will be busy for quite some time.  I guess WoW will have to do without me for some time to come.

FYI: I was a little confused with one item in Renee’s entry.  She mentions going to the old FamilySearch page and going thru a couple steps to get to the new search site.  I’m going to eliminate that and point you directly to the page: FamilySearch Pilot.
