Where's the Doddema?

Hi everybody,
I am Henk (officially Hindrik) Doddema. When I was still living in Haren, The Netherlands, I have contacted (bothered?) many of you for information about our family tree. I am happy to say that I collected a huge amount of data in the meantime and that I am happy to share it with you, but not at the moment! The reason is, that I am living at present in the town of Makurdi in Nigeria and the connection to the internet is, at best, erratic and sometimes totally impossible.
I am working here as Managing Director of a project to improve the often desperate situation of the cassava farmers, by improving the yields of their crops and providing them with an outlet for selling it. For those who are interested, I will be happy to tell more about it. It is a difficult, but very rewarding job!
If you have any questions on our family tree, please ask, but do not expect an answer until April, when I will be for a short holiday in The Netherlands and have better access to the web. You can use my email addresses hdoddema@home.nl or henkdoddema@yahoo.com.
Hope to hear from you.
Great website you have! I intend to visit it as often as I can.

Henk! It’s good to hear from you again. If I remember right, we used to email each other quite regularly.
Look around the family tree that’s been built up and let me know of any issues that you see. You can also email anytime you want at doddemagen at gmail.com
I know you’re quite busy with your job but maybe you can also register at doddemagen.com and write a small post about what you do. (Unfortunately, this site and the family tree require two different registrations. You can use the same login and password.)
I’m excited that all is well with you and look forward to hearing more. Good luck in Nigeria!

Hello Bernard,
It has been a while, but now I am back in the country. My work in Nigeria is finished and since then I have been on a mission to Paraguay, basically doing the same thing for an eco-agricultural cooperative of farmers.
As you may have noticed, I added two articles. One about the year 1672 in the village of Meeden (where our family originates) and one about the connection between part of the Dodde(ma) family with the ‘noble’ family of Huninga.

It’s good to hear from you again! I’d love to hear more about your work. It sounds fascinating. Would you be willing to write a post about it?
Thanks for the articles. I’ll get them up by this weekend. I’ve read both and loved them. Do you have any more stories like these?
I look forward to working with you and learning more about our family. Let me know if there’s anything I can do for you!
