I’m not sure I can really call it an upgrade. Although I did upgrade to Ella, the newest flavor of WordPress, I completely wiped everything else. Why? Hard to say. I know that it didn’t reflect me, who I was and what I wanted to share. I think as this week continues, my reflection will grow and I’ll be able to pinpoint exactly what I’m looking for. The bells and whistles will come shortly thereafter. I want this to be a site that I can come to anytime, share what I need to and be confident that I did my best. This is a great starting point.
Hope you join me for the ride as I talk later about what exactly this site will be about and how I’ll share that with the world.
Whew! A tip for everybody out there. If you have the funds to afford it, hire movers to pack/unpack and haul everything for you! It was touch and go moving day. Continue reading
We’ve been living in University apartments for the last 2 1/2 years and although it’s been great to be so close to friends, we’ve had enough. Why? Continue reading
Welcome to DoddemaGen. For those that don’t know, Berend is the son of Wiert Doddema (brother of my grandfather, Tammo Doddema). Our online family continues to grow. Hopefully, all the Doddema’s will soon know of this site and work together to fill the gaps in our family history.
If anybody has any questions, please let me know by either emailing me using the contact form or doddemagen (at) gmail.
Just received this email from Kavan, Kara’s brother. I hope he doesn’t mind that I’ve taken the liberty of sharing his message:
Hey everybody — Most of you have heard the good news already, but for those who haven’t yet I apologize for the late notice. The exciting news is that Sarah is a good five months pregnant and we found out yesterday that she’s pregnant with a healthy, lovely little girl.
And although I can’t possibly top that news we have a couple more exciting family updates — First, Sarah will be very happy to complete her Masters in Library Science this May, just weeks before the baby’s June 1st due date. And second, this is my last week at Stateline.org and next week I will begin working for the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I will be a communications officer in the university’s public affairs office and also will begin working on my Masters degree in some yet-to-be-determined discipline probably involving public policy.
Best wishes to all of you for a happy New Year!
Kavan, Sarah and little baby PJ (Peterson-Johnson)
Congratulations, Kavan & Sarah. We look forward to hearing more from you in the next few months regarding this blessed event. Remember, Auntie Kara and Uncle B have lots of experience that you can rely on.
