Henk, thanks for registering! It's great to have you onboard and helping with the work. I do appreciate all the hard work that you've put into this, you've been an inspiration to me.

If you have any suggestions on how to make this site better, please post it in the "Suggestions" forum. I'm still trying to get things up to date as well as more images and the like. I finally found a friend who knows graphics so hopefully I'll be able to put a nice header up.

Hi there!

This is my first visitor as a member to this site. I can see that it is still new and that it has great potential in becoming a meeting place for all Doddema's and those who are interested in the Doddema (and Dodde) family. I noticed that there is already an article from my hand in the 'articles' slot about the origin of the Doddema name. That was send by me to Bernard some time ago.

I have an extensive databank of the Dutch Doddema's as well as branches from Germany, Belgium and Norway. Someday, I plan to make a book of our history, but that will need much more research, especially about more than just birthdays and names of spouses. What was their occupation, did they have any special talents, did they become known for something (positive or negative)? These stories make a family history readable and juicy. So, if you have any such stories, write them down and publish them on this site (or, if you feel shy about it, send it directly to me at hdoddema@home.nl).

I want to thank Bernard for his trouble to set up a website like this. It must have been quite a job and probably still is in view of the many items with his name on it! I hope it will become a lively forum for all of us!

For now, my best wishes for all of you out there!

Henk Doddema
