Upcoming Trek novels

I just got done with Fearful Symmetry, the lastest DS9 novel and I’m ready for more. Unfortunately, Star Trek has slowed way down with releasing their books. Where we could expect a few a month, we’re lucky to get one a month.

Here’s the schedule for the upcoming year from krad at Simonsays.com:

August: TNG: Greater than the Sum by Christopher L. Bennett
September: ENT: Kobayashi Maru by Andy Mangels & Michael A. Martin
October: Destiny Book 1: Gods of Night by David Mack
November: Destiny Book 2: Mere Mortals by David Mack
December: Destiny Book 3: Lost Souls by David Mack
January: TOS: Errand of Fury Book 3: Sacrifices of War by Kevin Ryan
February: A Singular Destiny by Keith R.A. DeCandido
March: Titan: Over a Torrent Sea by Christopher L. Bennett
April: VOY: Full Circle by Kirsten Beyer
May: Vanguard Book 4 by Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore

I’m excited about it! I really am but if anybody has noticed…DS9 isn’t on that list. Supposedly the continuation to Fearful Symmetry won’t be out until after May 2009. Oh vey!!!!  Luckily, I have monthly Trek comics and several of them are in the works.  God does love me!

Book list out of date

I apologize for the books not being kept up to date.  I’ve read a few since November that I haven’t added and we all know the reason why….World of Warcraft.  Alas, I will update and quickly at that.

Sidenote: The only reason I’m writing right now is that the World of Warcraft server is under maintenance so I can’t play!

Bourne…movies better than books

Usually, I’m a big fan of books over movies.  I don’t mind the movie adaptation but I always find the book more engrossing.  Until I started to read the Bourne books.  Oh my gosh, I was bored.  Ignore the fact that the movie is loosely based upon the book and that’s probably because it’s so boring to the casual reader.  The author rambles on about so many characters in the beginning that my head spins.  Now I know it just might be my medications that are at fault but I think not.

I’ll just try my hand at some other author in that genre.

More than Meets the Eye?

I loved Transformers. I don’t care that I was a teenager and I was playing with toys. I had a job, I made my own money and on payday, I went to the local store and bought another Transformer. It was a small store and so the selection wasn’t that great. I remember being ticked off because they didn’t have my favorites but I didn’t give up. My parents bought me Starscream for my birthday and I purchased Bumblebee, the microscope dude, Prowl, and a few others.
